i made a reservation for my boss and his sales crew to have thier "meeting" at tampa's capital grill and i thought my job was done. you see i don't get to go on these trips but i do call and make plans for all of the ___________ company salesmen in the s.e. region. normally i do not pursue "blogging" a story but this one got to me. late friday i was to be finished with planning the dinner so i called my boss and gave him the information. he said he is not willing to go to capital grill because the last time he visited the following happened. at the bar he found himself talking to man who was very interested in selling him an opportunity and was unable to left alone by this man. this was not the biggest part of the problem. later the staff explained to him this man is there very often and gets many complaints and is somewhat of a con. my boss replied by saying;" so why not ask him to leave so i do not ". again the story to this point would not cause me to blog. the problem for me is the staff has apparently begged for him to be banned but being the a con artist he apparently has the general manager eating out of his hands. they call him ronald mcdonald, like the clown. i never worked in a bar but my sister says a restaurant of this caliber should be able to say no to a single quest who causes others to be upset and even more so when the staff who is apparently very bothered by this person says he hurts the business. so i had to do all the dinner part of the trip over and i was late to my own "friday night out". i'm giving you 4 stars but please grow a backbone and say no this person

The first time I walked in I was greeted personally and then I went over to the bar to wait for my other friends to arrive. The bartender asked my name, and never forgot it on subsequent visits. Everything is expensive, but the quality is worth it. Whether you want to impress, or just have a quite place to dine, this is a great spot. If you are looking for a small crowded 'local pub' this is not it. The lounge area around the bar is a nice place to sit as well, and is set up like the club they market themselves as. Storage for your cigars and wines offered too. (The bar and dining area are smoke free.)
Pros: good food and service
Cons: not a great spot to drop in alone
